Five simple steps

DEEP GOLDEN IN ABOUT 15 MINUTES

  1. 01

Preheat the oven — 175°C fan or 190°C conventional.

  2. 02

Space the pastries on a lined tray, straight from frozen, on the middle shelf.

  3. 03

Brush with egg wash, if you like a deeper shine.

  4. 04

Bake for about 15 minutes until deep golden.

  5. 05

Rest for 2 minutes. Then bring them to the table.

A note on ovens

EVERY OVEN HAS ITS OWN TEMPERAMENT

Fan oven: 175°C for 15 minutes

Conventional oven: 190°C for 15 minutes

A smaller bake: Baking only one or two pastries? Check them after 12–13 minutes.

Air fryer: Testing in progress. Guidance to follow.

For the perfect finish: bake on the middle shelf, on a lined tray, with space between each pastry. Leave to rest for 2 minutes before serving.

Ovens vary, so use colour and texture as your final guide — golden, risen and soft through the centre.
